Golden Bell Award

The Golden Bell Award is an honor that is bestowed upon a staff member for recognition of a “job well-done.”  When a staff member receives the award, their picture is taken and displayed in a showcase and they receive a huge golden bell  that they will pass on to the next recipient.  The Golden Bell recipient is responsible for selecting the next recipient of this award. The award is given at every staff meeting. We have five staff meetings: October 5, 2009, December7, 2009, February 1, 2010,April 12, 2010, and June 7,2010.

IB-MYP

International Baccalaureate at Bunker Middle School

  • At the end of this year, we will be submitting our Application B to IB. What this means is we will send them a portfolio of teachers’ MYP-formatted units.
  • An MYP-formatted unit consists of using current state-standards and additional IB-MYP instructional elements.   If you would like to see a sample unit and/or learn about MYP unit planning, please contact Mrs. Duren at 720-2302.
  • Unlike the diploma Programme(DP) at Muskegon High School, MYP does not have a specific IB curriculum.
  • As you may have noticed, non-core classes are on twelve-week rotatations to make sure students are exposed to a variety of experiences.
