While I was looking for music, I ran into a site that was jam-packed with great material: The Internet Archive.
http://www.archive.org/index.php
This site has downloadble images, moving images, music, text, and more! You can watch vintage movies, television, newsreels, classic cartoons, pro- and anti-war films, and amateur and home movie collections. You can listen to vintage radio programs, classic music and musicians. The texts collection includes digitized books from libraries around the world as well as many special collections. The amount of material is overwhelming.
You can also use the “Wayback Machine” to see see archived versions of web pages across time. Very interesting.

I am working with students to create book trailers. Finding music is always a challenge. Here are a few sites I have found:
Here are a few:
Partners in Rhyme has royalty free music that you can download for use in multimedia projects. They also have stock music for sale.

Royalty Free Music also has a free page for education.

Oddio Overplay has all sorts of music that is free and downloadable. It is a little hard to search, but what a wealth of material. http://www.oddiooverplay.com/
Amazon actually has free mp3 files, too.
